Should I rent a car?
A car is not necessary at Villa Encantada, however a rental car is the most convenient way to get to know the surrounding area. We have a van available for rental at the Villa. Please see

How far is Villa Encantada from the airport?
The Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Airport is located 13 miles from Villa Encantada. There are frequent taxi or van transfers from the airport at reasonable rates. It will cost $25 per taxi from the airport to Villa Encantada and takes about 25 minutes.

Does Villa Encantada include staff personnel?
Villa Encantada is fully staffed with a maid, cook and house man. They will take care of all of the cleaning and cooking. They will prepare two meals daily (except Sundays).
Is food included in the rental rate?
The cost of food and beverages is not included in the rental price. The houseman picks up the food/alcohol for you, then you reimburse him the actual cost. A rough estimate would be $150-$175 per person per week (for 2 meals a day) depending on the consumption of imported liquors, or costly seafood such as giant shrimp or lobster. (Food without beverages averages about $35-85 per person per week.)
How far is the Villa from the beach and from downtown?
A $4 taxi or 15 minute walk will get you to Conchas Chinas beach, the best beach on the south side. It is also a $4 taxi ride or 20 minute walk to the main Old Town Puerto Vallarta.
Isn't a villa more expensive than a hotel?
Villas are most often an affordable, more luxurious alternative to a hotel. When you factor in a full private staff and all the benefits and amenities that a private villa offers, you'll quickly realize that villas offer a superb value for your vacation dollar.
Does a weekly rental always start on the same day each week?
You can arrive on any day of the week, as long as the villa is available.
What time is check in and check out?
Check out time is 11:00 am, check in time is 3:00 p.m. We will do our best to accommodate you and an extension may be requested one week prior to arrival if needed. You may also store your luggage at the villa before or after check in and check out.
Is there a limit on the number of guests?
The maximum number of guests is limited to twelve persons. If more than 12 people arrive, they may be denied occupancy or an additional charge of US $50 per person, per night will apply.
Is there a minimum age requirement?
Yes, there must be at least one individual who will be an occupant of the Villa during the entire term of this rental agreement who is at least 25 years of age. If you are less than 25 years old and interested in renting, please inquire. We may consider renting to you with an additional deposit.
How far in advance should we make our reservation?
A minimum of 9 months out is wise. However, several months beforehand is often enough advance notice. It's IMPORTANT to note that holiday reservations (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter) require as much advance notice as possible.
Do we have to pay full rent if we book Villa Encanada with more bedrooms then we need?
Not necessarily. Villa Encantada can be rented at a reduced rate when you do not use all the bedrooms in low season only. Please always inquire.
What about tipping in Mexico?
Tipping of the employees is strictly voluntary although customary in Mexico. The amount would depend, of course, on the service, number of guests, the length of the stay, service, etc. We are often asked how to tip and have established a guideline that may be of help to you. $5-$8 per person in your party per day seems to be the average. This tip would be divided among the entire staff.
Are children welcome?
Yes! We even have a high chair and a porta-crib at the villa. Villa Encantada tends to be more child friendly than
many Puerto Vallarta villas because everything other than the garage is only on two levels-- this
ends up being parent friendly too!
