The following photo section contains Puerto Vallarta beach photos. Puerto Vallarta has miles and miles of sandy beaches. There are 90-100 miles of sensational coastline (and an estimated 30-40 miles of sandy beaches) on Banderas Bay, the largest natural bay in Mexico and the seventh largest in the world.
Puerto Vallarta’s beaches offer endless exploring of stunning sandy beaches or mangrove-ended lagoons and tide pools. Los Muertos Beach in Zona Romantica is lined with open-air cafes, restaurants, and bars where you can watch some of the most spectacular sunsets on earth.
There are wilderness beaches north and south of Puerto Vallarta where wildlife abounds and you can explore to your hearts content. To add to the pleasure of Puerto Vallarta’s beaches from November to March, sightings of whales are common and dolphins are in the Bay all year round.
Beaches to the north tend to be wider and longer with more opportunities for swimming and surfing. Beaches to the south tend to be beautiful sandy coves with mountains and jungle coming right down to the sea. See below for a gallery featuring Puerto Vallarta beach photos including: Los Muertos, Conchas Chinas, Mismaloya, the Marina, Las Gemelas, and Yelapa beaches.
