The following photo section contains pictures of the famous Puerto Vallarta Malecon. The Puerto Vallarta Malecon is the ocean side promenade that runs along the main street in Puerto Vallarta’s Centro.
Puerto Vallarta's Malecon has a world class display of bronze sculptures which reflect Puerto Vallarta's colorful culture. At most times of the year, there are also sand sculptures being built on the beach by various artists that are works of art in themselves. Puerto Vallartas's Malecon is also the main hub of activity downtown, particularly on Saturdays and Sundays when locals pour in to enjoy its festive atmosphere. Food vendors with native goodies, mimes, and portrait artists are all part of the Malecon festivities.
The Malecon pictures below give you an idea of the vast array of activities it offers. At the more southernly end of Puerto Vallarta's Malecon - in the Los Arcos open air amphitheater - clowns, singers, musicians, folkloric dancers, and many other types of acts perform. Not far from the amphitheater the Pampantla Flyers perform their famous act while suspended upside down fifty feet in the air (see picture below). As the Malecon pictures below show, Puerto Vallarta's Malecon is also a fabulous place to catch one of Banderas Bay's famous sunsets.
